A life insurance policy has a huge role in everyone’s life. The main purpose of Life insurance policies is to secure our life from expenses that occurred due to any accidents or other incidents. The government has initiated an accident insurance scheme named Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana.

This scheme only provides accident insurance. The scheme was launched by Prime minister Narendra Modi on 8th May in Kolkata. The scheme is available to the people in the age group of 18 to 70 years. The scheme is being offered by the public sector general insurance companies or any other general insurance companies which are in tie-up with participating banks. It uses the auto-debit facility to deduct the insurance amount from your bank account.

The people will get up to 2 lakh for accidental death and full disability and 1 lakh for partial disability. Then deducts 12 rupees per annum in one installment from your bank account through the auto-debit facility. The amount will debit every year before June 1. An individual can join this scheme through one bank account only.

The application form can be download from the official website of Jansuraksha. The website link is Jansuraksha.gov.in. The insurance amount will release only when you submit documentary evidence of accident and disability.

You can add a nominee to the insurance scheme. In case of the death of the account holder, the nominee can claim the amount. To start this insurance scheme, the documents required are, application form of Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana, Bank passbook and Aadhar card. The insurance will automatically be terminated on attaining the age of 70 years.

The documents required to claim the insurance money’s are;

In case of death, they should submit a copy of FIR, postmortem report and the death certificate.

In case of disability, they should submit a copy of FIR, Disability certificate issued by the civil surgeon and discharge certificate in the enclosed format.
